vincent martino |
Osteopath DO, M.Ost
Vincent studied osteopathy in both France and England and graduated from the internationally-renowned European School of Osteopathy in 2013 with an Integrated Master's degree in osteopathy. His osteopathic education in both countries has allowed him to benefit from a great diversity of osteopathic approaches, which he uses in practice, such as cranial, visceral and structural osteopathy. He has a strong grounding in anatomy and physiology which help him to navigate pain patterns and provide a holistic view of the body. Vincent enjoys treating patients from all backgrounds. He takes the time to explain the origin of their pain, and what can be done through treatment to improve function and reduce discomfort. He also values the importance of discussing with patients poor postural habits that they can try to reduce as well as exercises they can start in order to create a feeling of increased well-being. Over the past few years Vincent has become increasingly interested in the physical expression of trauma in the body, the symptoms it might manifest and how it might be treated. His study of this subject helps him communicate compassionately with patients to work together in managing their pain. Vincent and Hannah have three young daughters who they are bringing up in the nearby seaside town of Whitstable. |
hannah kasiri-martino |
Osteopath M.Ost, DO, BSc. (Hons), Biomedical Science
Hannah graduated from the world-renowned European School of Osteopathy in July 2013 with first class honours and was presented with the award for best research dissertation, which she did on the application of osteopathic principles. After graduation, she presented her prize-winning research at Chiropractic, Physiotherapy and Osteopathy conference in Bournemouth. She has continued her osteopathic research after graduation, publishing her work in the journal 'Manual Therapy' in 2015 and working as a researcher and dissertation supervisor at the European School of Osteopathy. In recent years Hannah has completed her Post-Graduate Certificate of Academic Practice at Christ Church University, Canterbury and lectures osteopathic students in professionalism, the sociological elements of practice and research methods. Hannah has also worked as a lecturing assistant in the subjects of cranial osteopathy, balanced ligamentous tension and specific adjustment technique for first to fourth year students at the European School of Osteopathy. In clinical practice, Hannah adapts treatment and management plans to her patients’ individual needs and preferences, using the wide range of techniques that were included in her training. Hannah has a particular interest in the classical osteopathic approach, using gentle articulatory techniques and considering the whole body in diagnosis and treatment. She also has extensive training in cranial osteopathy and often treats patients using cranial techniques. She is increasingly interested in the way we speak to patients and also listen to them having an effect on the outcome of their treatment and how they feel about their pain. She strives to use gentle and compassionate communication and collaborative patient-centred models to involve the patient as a key participant in the management of their health. A mother of three young children and an active facilitator of a local positive birth group, Hannah loves treating pregnant and postpartum women and using gentle osteopathic techniques including cranial osteopathy to help soothe any aches and pains their changing bodies may experience. She is passionate about signposting her pregnant/postpartum patients to local resources that can support them in conjunction with/beyond osteopathy. In the years before training as an osteopath, Hannah completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences, with particular focus on anatomy and physiology, at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Growing up in Kent, Hannah competed at County and National levels in tennis, hockey and swimming and now integrates her experience from competitive sport in managing patients with sporting injuries. |
